For more than 35 years, OPTO's designs have been manufactured on site at their facility in the Chicago area. And as the industry evolves, OPTO designers and engineers stay at the forefront by developing new display solutions to meet the ever-changing needs of tomorrow’s retailers.

For nearly 5 years, I was one of two Senior Design Engineer's in the New Product Development Department. It was my sole role to be turnkey in the design and development of new product categories as directed by cumulative research, client requests, and OPTO's Marketing and Sales Leadership. I was the one whom starts with the thumbnail sketches taking a concept through preliminary engineering of prototypes for proof of concept through final engineered production modeling, drawing and manufactured product. As as result of my time at OPTO I have become a well versed engineer but a true industrial designer as I have broadened my knowledge of engineering for manufacturing as well as learned industry standards for the Fixture and display industry which also has translated to my work in the furniture industries. It has been an in-valuable experience. Below are three significant core collections that I was been responsible for in my time at OPTO. Reveal, Evolve, and The Mobile Kiosk system for stadiums and pop-up retail.

REVEAL -  More Merchandise, Less Fixture

Mix and match finishes to personalize the look. Our unique power system for plug-and-play, under-shelf lighting helps makes this a great choice when a more elevated look is needed. Simple in its design and presence, Reveal has the ability to combine complex store layouts with clean visuals. Its modern feel, scale, and style provide structure and flexibility in even the most eclectic space. Use Reveal's integrated hang rails for apparel, or simply drop on a face out for some merchandising variation. Add a decorative acrylic panel, or additional shelves, bins, baskets, or hooks. Its component-based design can be shipped flat, or sent fully assembled for your convenience. Specify one of our many powder-coat finishes in combination with laminated or 3D laminated base inserts. Decorative panels are available in frosted acrylic. Merchandising panels are available with laminated, 3D laminated, perforated metal, or frosted acrylic panels.

EVOLVE - Adapts to Any Situation

 

An ideal choice for shop-in-shop branded spaces, the Evolve Collection is compatible with our full line of standard accessories. The smart framework, mixed materials, and variety of shapes complement most retail environments—adding interest to your merchandise. Use Evolve fixtures in their simplest form with its modern metal frame and base. Or add removable panels and trim kits for more of a millwork look and feel. Flat-packed and easily assembled, you’ll be able to change panels, trim kits, and accessories on the spot. The component-based design can also be shipped fully assembled for your convenience. Choose from our large selection of finishes and materials. Removable panels are available in laminate, 3D laminate, perforated metal, or frosted acrylic. Trim kits can be specified in 3D laminate or powder-coated MDF.

MOBILE CLAMSHELL - Temporary POP-Up Solutions

Accessibility. Durability. Security. That's how you maximize your retail presence. Clamshells are a perfect way to a team to add secondary and tertiary points of sale. They are portable retail solutions that allow brands and retailers to affordably curate merchandise selections. The clamshells can close and collapse into a smaller footprint, and are easily moved around to other areas, or become locked, self-contained storage units when not in use. They can also be relocated at a moment's notice to different areas inside or outside of any space. They allow fans to shop for their keepsake, while still being immersed in the game's action and the stadium's energy.
